The meeting of Irakli Mezurnishvili with the Executive Director of Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption, Akaash Maharaj
The Head of Georgia-Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group, Irakli Mezurnishvili met with the Executive Director of Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption, Akaash Maharaj.
The parties discussed the process the Georgian Parliament shall be through for membership to GOPAC. As noted, the corruption is the greatest challenge, especially in the developing countries as it reduces and even suspends economic growth of the country.
“I believe that our cooperation with GOPAC will be interesting and important. We cherish the goal to access to GOPAC already including 62 successful countries”, - I. Mezurnishivli noted.
Mr. Maharaji expressed his support to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and his commitment to render aid to Georgia within the GOPAC format.
The meeting was attended by the Georgia-Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group member, Levan Gogichaishvili.
