The meeting of Irine Pruidze with the members of the Canadian Parliamentary Center
The Chair of the Permanent Parliamentary Open Governance Council, Irine Pruidze hosted the members of the Canadian Parliamentary Center visiting Georgia, the President and CEO, Jean-Paul Ruszkowski and the Director of the Partnership and Program Development, Ivo Balinov, as well as the Ambassador of Canada, H.E. Chris Cooter.
The parties discussed importance of OGP and progress in this context. I. Pruidze emphasized the activity of the Council stating that Georgia is the first country in the world establishing hereof permanent mechanism to ensure Parliamentary openness.
“We need a strong and effective Parliament. The Parliament shall be open, accountable and inclusive in this view. Georgia is one of the first countries signing the Parliamentary Openness Declaration and establishing the Permanent Parliamentary Open Governance Council”.
The parties discussed innovative technologies, Parliamentary openness and transparency, civic engagement and the confidence to the Parliament. I. Pruidze introduced the experience on Global OGP Summit held in Tbilisi.
