The Speaker, David Usupashvili and MPs laid the wreath on the Memorial to the Heroes of War of August, 2008 to commemorate deceased

The Speaker, Mr. David Usupashvili and MPs on behalf of the Parliament laid the wreath on the Memorial to the Heroes of August War in Mukhatgverdi cemetery to commemorate the soldiers sacrificing their lives to the country.
As the Speaker stated, after 8 years this tragedy is even more acute and stricter steps shall be made to ensure security of the country. “8 years have passed since that terrible tragedy. During these years, we were passed through many events. We better realize heroism of our compatriots, our soldiers and civil persons and after 8 years, that tragedy and pain is 8 times more acute. First of all because there are no answers to that tragedy yet. International society is not ready to give adequate answer to that war but we are glad that Georgian people stand united to protect homeland, being even better mobilized.
We all shall do our best to protect our country, Georgia. That is why we need integration to NATO. We cannot gain our lost territories back by means of military force and NATO but we cannot either protect the rest of the territories without NATO and our allies. So, it is necessary to make stricter steps to better protect our country and to prevent us feeling that we may again appear alone against the aggressor”.
The Speaker and MPs met with the family members and relatives of the heroes and expressed their condolences.
