Mamuka Mdinaradze – “Conforming to NDI survey, Georgian Dream will win the Parliamentary Elections 2020 with majority”

Deputy Chairman of Parliament Mamuka Mdinaradze 16 Jan 2020
Mamuka Mdinaradze – “Conforming to NDI survey, Georgian Dream will win the Parliamentary Elections 2020 with majority”

The Vice Speaker, Leader of the Parliamentary Majority, Mamuka Mdinaradze held the briefing on the NDI survey and presented diagrams of surveys conducted by the organization over the years.

Pursuant to M. Mdinaradze, the overwhelming majority of NDI surveys were conducted in the field by the CRRC, which is affiliated with the UNM.
As for the projections for the Georgian Dream's, they are as follows:

  • 18% projection for 2012, actual results of Parliamentary elections - 54.97%;
  • 29-39% projection for 2013, actual results of Georgian Dream’s Presidential Candidate - 62%;
  • 15-20% projection for 2015-2016, actual results of Georgian Dream at the Parliamentary elections in 2016 - 49%.

"Recent surveys conducted by the CRRC in April suggest that the figure is 17%, while the data for June 2019 also coincide with today's figure as is introduced by the head of the NDI Georgia. The projections of election results are very simple - conforming to NDI survey, Georgian Dream will win the Parliamentary Elections 2020 with majority", - M. Mdinaradze noted.

The Majority Leader also spoke about the meeting with NDI's resident director in Georgia, Laura Thornton.

“I have had a very long and sincere conversation with Ms. Laura today. We have agreed to hold a discussion on these issues in the coming days, as there are questions that do not have definitive, ultimate answers. I am confident that after fulfilling the terms of this agreement, we will move closer to making these surveys relatively objective”, - M. Mdinaradze noted.
